1000K CHALLENGE-MONTH 8

Without a doubt this was worst month yet. I set out 8 months ago to run 1000K+ to raise funds for Salford's Young Carers. After 5 months 1 week I had completed 841.5K and was flying & then I was falling, broken my fibula and then there followed 2 months 3 weeks of frustration & pain as only 100.48K were completed, mostly on slow hill walks.

This slow down really hit me this month as my mental wellbeing began to suffer, and the weather moved from snow to rain, from brilliant sunshine to freezing rain. I had to face the fear of running again, the fear of another fall,  the fear of being stuck in the middle of no-where with a rebroken leg. In the end I just had to go for it & completed a 10K Road run, in freezing rain, a mixture of heaven & hell & guess what.....it was all fine......slow but fine.

Months Totals

Distance: 56.12K             Ascent: 1564M

Grand Total:

Distance: 941.98K    Ascent: 28,612M

So only 58.02K to go, leg still not totally right but getting there & still aiming at 1000K+
