There is a national programme that supports people with lived experience of using health and care services that contributes to the work of the Care Quality Commission (this is a body that is responsible for the registration and inspection of care and health provision).
They are hoping to recruit over 200 people across the North West who have experience of using services for older people and people with dementia OR their carers.
The role is to accompany inspectors and talk to people and their family carers about their experiences of using health or care services.
The role is paid at £9.09 per hour (plus holiday pay) and training and support is available.
For further information about the programme from the CQC please see http://www.cqc.org.uk/content/involving-people-who-use-services or check out their website at http://www.katemercer-training.com/experts-by-experience/
They are also holding an open day in Manchester at the Pioneer Suite (3 mins walk from Piccadilly station) 10.00 - 1.00pm where people are invited to pop in and grab further information. If you are interested please get in touch with them and they will forward further information.
