Wood Street Mission, in Manchester, are restructuring their poverty relief work and are currently piloting a community shop in their central Manchester premises where families can ‘purchase’ practical necessities such as children’s clothes, bedding, toys and books, as well as food during school holidays. Families are allocated credit for use in the shop depending on family size.

They now wish to recruit a Services Coordinator to help run the shop, organise a programme of activities and workshops for families using the shop, and develop signposting systems so clients can access a broader range of support. This is a new post and a great opportunity for someone committed to making a difference to the lives of local struggling families. It is also an exciting time to join the charity in the run up to their 150th Anniversary in 2019.

Candidates should have significant experience working directly with families, be familiar with child poverty issues, and have strong organisational skills. Knowledge of child safeguarding and protection issues is also a pre-requisite.

In order to apply for the post you should read the application pack carefully and fill in an application form outlining how your skills and experience qualify you for the role.

Please email your completed application forms and monitoring forms to  by 5pm Monday 25 April 2016.  Interviews will be held in our office on Friday 6 May.
