Tomorrow, 16th March, we are running an event to highlight the issues faced by young carers in school and to explore how getting involved in the National Young Carers in School Awards run by the Carers Trust & The Children's Society can not only make your school a more carers friendly place but also support this group of very vulnerable young people reach their full academic potential.

Young carers are not something that other people have to deal with they are in every educational base, primary,  high, or college-almost 8% of young people in schools are carers, that's 80 pupils in a school of 1,000 pupils.....How many in your school? How many do you know?

So tomorrow we will be at St. Ambrose Barlow RC High School on the A6 in Swinton running the following session;

12.30 registration/refreshments

1.00 Young Carers in School-Issues & facts - Paul Moran (Manager Salford Carers Centre)

1.35 The Walkden High Experience - 2 young carers talk about the support they get in school & the systems in place (Arron & Antonia Rae)
