SAD GOODBYES AS ROUND THE WORLD TRIP BECKONS

After more than five years with the Salford Young Carers Service, we are sad to say that Precious Mike is leaving us!  During those five years a lot has happen to us all, the photo is Precious just before she got married in 2013!!

Precious has been part of the service for a number of years, starting as a member of the extended team, helping to run support groups for young carers throughout the city.  She then took on the role of running groups, providing vital respite and support for a number of young carers.  When A vacancy in the core team appeared, Precious applied successfully and has worked full time for the service for approximately three years now.  She has been a dedicated worker and her experience, support and empathy have positively impacted dozens of young carers who always have a good word to say about her. She has supported 6 high schools in developing their support for young carers on their roles and has always represented the Service in a very professional manner.

She has been at the forefront of the many developments that have occurred over the past 4 years bringing to the Service the right mix of professionalism and enthusiasm. As her colleagues, we will miss her wise words, experience and support, (and the odd giggle!!) but will continue to feel the benefits of the positive working models she has helped adopted within the service.

On behalf of the Young Carers in Salford, and her colleagues, we all wish Precious, and her husband Chris, the best of luck for the next exciting chapter in their lives – a round the world adventure! First stop Japan!!
