Following two successful funding bids to Carers Trust we are able to announce two new projects to run during 2015.
1. Develop and Aspire-This project will support young adult carers aged 16 & 17 access peer support groups run by health professionals looking at all aspects of improving the physical and mental wellbeing of the carer. The project will also access appropriate individual support for young adult carers if required. This small project will run along side the normal health groups run by our Service.
2. Family Time-This project will target a number of our primary school carers who are sibling carers. We will be looking at the young people who are vital to caring packages within families and who because of this get very little if any, quality time with their parent or parents. We will work with the families to allow appropriate support to be put in place to enable the young carer and a parent to do activities together and reduce the opportunity for resentment and/or guilt to develop
Both Projects will be managed via a referral process
Both projects are funded by the COMIC RELIEF/FLYING START Grant managed by the Carer Trust
