When Caring Ends

Beginning on Thursday 14 March and finishing on Thursday 4 April, this course will cover topics such as barriers and moving forward, communication, confidence & emotional intelligence and how to access services and support.

When Caring Ends is for any person who previously cared for a family member or friend. We will discuss moving forward, putting a positive routine in place and how to develop your skills/ career/ hobbies.

Carers Breakfast with Welfare Rights

We’re pleased to announce we have another special carers breakfast with a staff member from Welfare Rights available to offer advice sessions. These are always really popular so if you’d like a 1-1 advice session, book in as soon as you can. You can do this by emailing us at or calling on 0161 212 5451.

Springtime planting day

Join us for a tree planting event at Chat Moss!

There will be two sessions on Monday 18 February:

10:30am-12:30pm and 1pm- 3pm

Please bring a waterproof coat and/or trousers, hat and scarf. It will probably be quite nippy! We strongly advise that you don't wear trainers as they won't be waterproof and will probably get dirty.
We will provide biscuits and thermos flasks; please bring a packed lunch!

Accessibility information:

There are quite a lot of gravel paths which would be OK for a wheelchair to explore, although they are not purpose built.
The tree planting will happen adjacent to an unmade public foot path, rough underfoot and not wheelchair friendly.

New Year New Me Walk

Have you set a New Year’s resolution to get out more? Would you like to meet new people and have a chat? We’re inviting adult carers and the people they support to attend our New Year New Me walk in Princes Park on Wednesday 9 January.

We’ll be meeting by the car park entrance to the Princes Park Garden centre in Irlam ready to set out for 11am.

The Triangle of Care- Carers Included

Are you a professional who works with carers and would like to know more about the Triangle of Care? Join us for training on what the Triangle of Care means for your service and how to implement it to improve better partnership working with unpaid carers with the aim of creating a therapeutic alliance between professionals, carers and service users/patients.

This is a great opportunity to receive training from Ruth Hannan who led on the Triangle of Care in England for six years overseeing implementation and who has a wealth of knowledge on good practice and overcoming barriers in these challenging times.

The event will be held at the Langworthy Cornerstone and places are limited.

N.B. This is an event for professionals. We encourage nursing staff, doctors, consultants, allied health professionals and social workers to attend this event.

The Care Act: Carers' Rights in Law and in Practice

If you’re a professional who works with unwaged carers in health, social care & third sector services, join us to learn about carers’ rights under the Care Act on Carers Rights Day.

This is a great opportunity to learn about carers' rights, what their needs are, what this means in practice, how services can support carers better to meet statutory duties as well as what Salford Carers do to support unpaid carers of all ages.

The training is free and will be interactive to ensure improved learning for those who attend.

Caring at Christmas

The winter holiday period is exciting but it can also be stressful, time consuming and exhausting. To help with this, we’re hosting a two hour wellbeing session to help carers cope with the additional stress of festivities.

We will be discussing the stresses and the joys of caring during the hectic Christmas period as well as learning to care for ourselves with 25 self-care tips from our Carers Advent Calendar. We will finish off with a game of Christmas musical bingo to get us into the festive spirit.

Join us on Friday 23 November from 10am-12pm at Eccles Firestation.

Wellbeing Walk for Self Care Week

Did you know self care week runs from November 12- November 18? It’s the perfect time for you to do something kind for yourself. If you’re an adult carer, we invite you and the person you care for to a walk in Worsley Woods on Monday 12 November where you can practice mindfulness and get some top tips for self care from members of the team.

If you’re interested, meet us at Beesley Green Community Centre for 11am and bring a pack lunch if you think you might get peckish. The walk finishes at 2pm.
